Temperature Converter – Convert Temperature Online (Free Tool)

Free online Temperature Converter tool to convert between Celsius, Fahrenheit, and Kelvin. Calculate temperature values for different scales. All conversion happens locally.

Example Output

F = C × 9/5 + 32, validated against the textbook boiling point.

100°C → °F
212°F (boiling point of water)

What is Temperature Converter?

Temperature Converter handles the three common scales: Celsius, Fahrenheit, and Kelvin. Unlike most unit conversions which use a simple factor, temperature uses offsets — the tool applies the right formula automatically. Live conversion as you type.

Why use this tool?

  • Touch-friendly UI, fine on phones for on-the-go edits
  • No registration, account, or installation required
  • No API keys to manage and no rate limits to monitor
  • Strict and lenient parser modes for handling messy real-world data
  • Handles UTF-8 BOM, mixed delimiters, and other edge cases that break simpler converters

How to use

  1. Enter a temperature value
  2. Pick from-unit (°C / °F / K) and to-unit
  3. Result updates as you type — no Convert button

Examples

Recipe — oven temperature

350°F (US recipe) → 176.7°C. Round to 175°C for most ovens with 25° increments.

Weather conversion

-10°C → 14°F. Quick mental rule: F ≈ 2×C + 30 is close enough for weather small-talk.

Scientific use

20°C → 293.15 K. Kelvin is offset by 273.15 from Celsius (same scale size, different zero).

Common use cases

  • Recipe conversions when oven uses one scale and recipe another
  • Weather small-talk across regions
  • Science class / physics homework
  • Travel planning between metric and US locations

Troubleshooting

Negative Kelvin shown.
Kelvin is absolute — there is no negative temperature. If you see one, your Celsius input is below -273.15°C (below absolute zero), which is physically impossible.

Frequently Asked Questions

To convert Celsius to Fahrenheit, multiply by 9/5 and add 32. For example, 0°C = (0 × 9/5) + 32 = 32°F.
