What is Rotate Image?

Rotate Image turns an image by any angle and bakes the rotation into the pixel data. Unlike EXIF orientation flags which some apps ignore, this guarantees the image displays correctly in every viewer. Includes quick 90°/180°/270° buttons and full free-angle slider, plus flip horizontal/vertical.

Why use this tool?

  • Open-and-go: bookmark the page once and never look for an alternative
  • Instant results — no waiting on a server or upload progress bar
  • Touch-friendly UI, fine on phones for on-the-go edits
  • Output preserves color profile and metadata except when stripping is explicitly requested
  • Supports PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, and SVG with consistent quality across formats

How to use

  1. Drop an image
  2. Click 90°, 180°, 270° quick buttons or drag the slider for any angle
  3. Use Flip H/V for mirroring
  4. Download the rotated result

Examples

Fix a sideways phone photo

Phone saved photo with rotation in EXIF only — older viewers ignore that. Rotate 90° here to bake it in.

Mirror for design

Flip horizontal to create a symmetric layout asset from a single source.

Common use cases

  • Permanently fixing rotated phone photos
  • Mirroring assets for symmetric designs
  • Free-angle tilts for creative composition
  • Pre-processing before OCR (text-aligned correctly)

Troubleshooting

Free-angle rotation leaves blank corners.
Canvas is enlarged to fit the rotated image. The transparent corners can be filled by setting a background colour or by cropping afterwards.
