GIF Maker – Free Online Tool

Free online GIF Maker tool to create animated GIFs from images. Combine multiple images into an animated GIF with customizable duration. All processing happens locally.

Example Output

A real .gif file (encoded via gif.js) — opens in any image viewer and plays automatically.

6 images at 200ms delay, quality 10
animation.gif (~150-400 KB, plays at 5 fps)

What is GIF Maker?

GIF Maker assembles a sequence of images into an animated GIF that plays in every browser and image viewer. Encoding runs in a Web Worker so the UI stays responsive even for long animations. Frames are letterboxed onto a uniform canvas so mixed sizes still produce a clean result.

Why use this tool?

  • Your data stays private — all processing happens locally in the browser
  • No telemetry, no tracking pixels, no third-party scripts
  • Open-and-go: bookmark the page once and never look for an alternative
  • Supports PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, and SVG with consistent quality across formats
  • Your original file is never uploaded — sensitive screenshots stay on your device

How to use

  1. Drop multiple images (up to 50 frames) in the order you want them
  2. Adjust frame delay (ms) — controls animation speed
  3. Set quality (1=best, 30=fastest)
  4. Click Create GIF — encoding runs in a Web Worker; download when finished

Examples

Tutorial step-through GIF

Screenshot each step of a UI flow, drop into the tool, set 800ms delay — viewers see each step long enough to read.

Slideshow GIF for email

Four product photos at 1500ms delay — animation embeds in email and auto-plays without video support.

Common use cases

  • Tutorial and screencast GIFs
  • Product showcase animations
  • Memes and reaction images
  • Email-safe animations (every client renders GIF)

Troubleshooting

GIF file too large.
Reduce dimensions (max-side capped automatically), drop quality to 20+, or remove frames. Run through GIF Compressor afterwards.
